While her ex-fiance Benji Madden plays up in the spotlight with Paris, Monk has headed to Bulgaria — dodging headlines and putting her love life on the backburner as she focuses on her steady climb towards commercial mega-stardom.
Notching herself up some solid CV credentials, the Aussie actress has been cast to star alongside William Sadler, of Shawshank Redemption fame, in the big-screen screamer.
The fright flick is the latest horror production from Dark Castle Home Entertainment and Warner Premiere and has already begun shooting in Bulgaria, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The industry bible reports the plot centres around a film fanatic whose obsession with finding a complete print of an infamous slasher movie leads him and two friends into the backwoods.
